Pottinger, Sir Henry, Bart., B.A., Merton Coll., Oxon, 1855, J.P., D.L. co. Durham, a student of the Inner Temple 6 April, 1857 (then aged 22), called to the bar 30 April, 1861 (2nd son of late Rt. Hon. Sir Henry Pottinger, Bart., G.C.B., dec.); born 10 June, 1834; married 10 Dec., 1863, Mary Adeline, eldest dau. of late Rev. E. Hopper Shipperdson, of Hermitage, co. Durham; she died 2 June, 1866, leaving a dau. (see Foster's Our Noble and Gentle Families).
