Reed, Latham Gallup, commissioner of deeds for the city and county of New York since 1882, B.A., LL.B., Trin. Hall, Camb., 1880, educated also at Columbia Coll., New York, admitted attorney and counsellor-at-law of the supreme court of the state of New York 1882, a member of the Inner Temple 24 May, 1878 (then aged 22), called to the bar 29 June, 1881 (2nd son of late Rev. Sylvanus Reed, minister of Protestant Episcopal Church, New York); born 10 Dec., 1855; married 29 April, 1884, Mary Newbold, eldest dau. of late John Welsh, Esq., of Philadelphia, and grandniece of late Hon. John Welsh, late United States minister to the court of St. James.
