Riddell, Sir Walter Buchanan, Bart., M.A., Christ Church, Oxon, 1834, J.P. Northumberland, Kent, and Staff., judge of county courts (circuit No. 39) 1859-79, recorder of Maidstone 1846-68, a student of the Inner Temple 10 Jan., 1831, went to Lincoln's Inn 31 Oct., 1834 (then aged 24), where he was called to the bar 18 Nov., 1834 (eldest son of late Sir John Buchanan Riddell, of Riddell, Bart., dec.); born 8 Aug., 1810; married 18 Aug., 1859, Alicia, youngest dau. of late William Ripley, Esq., 52nd regt.; s.p.
