Coll., Oxon (scholar), B.A. (1st class in classics) 1859, fellow Magdalen Coll., Oxon, 1860, a member of the Metropolitan asylums board, private secretary to Lord Aberdare when home secretary 1868-73, contested Northallerton 1880, J.P. Yorkshire, N.R., a student of Lincoln's Inn 23 Nov., 1859 (then aged 22), called to the bar 30 April, 1864 (3rd son of William Rutson, Esq., of Newby Wiske, Yorks); born 2 Dec., 1836 (see Foster's Yorkshire Collection).
