Saunders, Thomas William, magistrate at Thames police court since 1878, recorder of Bath 1860-78, sometime a revising barrister and a municipal election inquiry commissioner, author of Metropolitan Police Court Jottings, The Practice of Magistrates' Courts, The Public Health Act 1865, The Municipal Corporation Act 1882, County Police Law, Militia Law, Municipal Registration and Elections, etc., a student of the Middle Temple 16 April, 1832, called to the bar 9 June, 1837 (2nd son of Samuel E. Saunders, of Bath, Somerset, gent.); born , ; married 16 Aug., 1854, Frances Gregory, dau. of William Galpine, Esq., of Newport, Isle of Wight.
