Sealy, Sir John, K.C.M.G. 28 Sept., 1874, chancellor of the diocese of Barbados since 1846, solicitor-general 1841-6, attorney-general 1846-74, solicitor-general 1841-6, member of Legislative Council Barbados 1858-76 and a member of the House of Assembly, M.A., Exeter Coll., Oxon, 1833, 2nd class in classics 1829, C.M.G. 1869, a student of the Middle Temple 19 Nov., 1829, called to the bar 22 Nov., 1833 (3rd son of Thomas Sealy, Esq., of Clifton, co. Glouc.); born 5 May, 1807; married 13 Sept., 1834, Ann Isabella, dau. of late J. F. D. Jones, M.D.; she died , 1857, leaving issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
