Skinner, Allan Maclean, Q.C., B.A., Balliol Coll., Oxon, 1832, from Eton, recorder of Windsor since 1852, revising barrister on Oxford circuit 1837-57, counsel to the Mint and Post Office and to the commissioners of woods and forests for cos. Hereford and Gloucester 1842, chief commissioner of escheats on the Oxford circuit 1855-7, judge of county courts (circuit No. 25) 1859-72, J.P. cos. Stafford and Worcester, a student of Lincoln's Inn 25 Nov., 1826 (then aged 17), called to the bar 6 June, 1834, Q.C. 23 June, 1857, bencher 2 Nov., 1857, treasurer 1877 (4th son of Lieut.-Genl. John Skinner, of London); born 14 July, 1809; married 20 Dec., 1837, Caroline Emily, only dau. of late Rev. John Harding, M.A., and sister of late Sir John Dorney Harding, Q.C, D.C.L., H.M.'s advocate-general.
