Smith, (Hon.) Sir Archibald Levin, a justice of the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division, since April, 1883 (knighted 30 April), junior counsel to the treasury 1878-83, went the Home circuit, B.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1858, knighted at Osborne 20 April, 1883, a student of the Inner Temple 27 May, 1856 (then aged 20), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1860, an honorary bencher 12 April, 1883 (only son of Francis Smith, Esq., of Salt Hill, Sussex); born , 1836; married , 1867, Isobel, eldest dau. of John Charles Fletcher, Esq., of Dale Park, Sussex, J.P., D.L., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
