Stewart, Charles Henry, C.M.G. 10 Dec, 1877, senior puisne judge Ceylon 1872-9, junior puisne judge 1864-72, acting chief justice in 1875 and 1877, deputy Queen's advocate 1845-60, acting district judge Colombo 1860-4, advocate Ceylon bar 1846, a student of Lincoln's Inn 3 April, 1858 (then aged 34), called to the bar 26 Jan., 1863 (3rd son of late Capt. James Stewart, of the Ceylon rifles); born , 1824; married 26 March, 1856, Helen Margaret, eldest dau. of Thomas Mackenzie, Esq., of London.
