Stonor, (His Honour Judge) Henry James, judge of county courts (circuit No. 43) since 1883, of circuit No. 45 1865-77, of circuit No. 46 1877-83, a member of standing committee for framing county court rules, chief commissioner of West Indian Encumbered Estates Commission 1858-65, educated at St. Mary's Coll., Oscott, and St. Edmund's Coll., Ware, J.P. Surrey, a student of the Middle Temple 15 Nov., 1839, called to the bar 25 Nov., 1842 (2nd son of Lieut.-Col. Charles Stonor, of the Spanish service, by Mary, eldest dau. of late Charles Butler, Esq., Q.C.); born 14 March, 1820; married 8 April, 1858, Mary Anne, youngest dau. of late John Kirsopp, Esq. (see Foster's Peerage, B. Camoys).
