Topham, Lieut.-Col. Sir William, K.C.H. 1853, lieut. of the hon. corps of H.M.'s bodyguard of gentlemen-at-arms 1853-78, knighted 18 Feb., 1858, knight of the legion of honour of France 1859, hon. lieut. royal naval reserve since 1874, a student of the Middle Temple 19 Nov., 1830, called to the bar 25 Nov., 1836 (eldest son of Lupton Topham, of Middleham, Yorks, gent.); born 25 Oct., 1810; married 1st, 5 Oct., 1854, Lady Mary Bentinck, youngest dau. of William Henry, 4th duke of Portland; she died 20 July, 1874; he married 2ndly, 7 Aug., 1879, Anne, dau. of late Thomas Harrison, Esq. (see Foster's Baronetage).
