Lancashire, B.A., Christ Church, Oxon, 1845, from Eton, a member of the Northern circuit, a student of Lincoln's Inn 5 May, 1845, went to the Inner Temple 27 March, 1848, where he was called to the bar 5 May, 1848, Q.C. 22 Feb., 1868, bencher 28 April, 1868 (eldest son of Martin John West, Esq., bar.-at-law); born 7 Nov., 1823; married 22 Dec., 1870, Violet Katherine Hamilton, 3rd dau. of late Walter Frederick Campbell, Esq., of Islay, N.B.
