STATE (FSM) ISLANDS OF YAP, ULITHI, FAIS, AND NGULU AT 25 NOV 2200 
LST (26 NOV 8 AM CHST) BASED ON JTWC WARNING NR 1. ALTHOUGH QUIKSCAT 
SCATTEROMETER AND AVAILABLE MICROWAVE DATA INDICATED THE STRONGEST 
WINDS AND CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY WERE LOCATED IN THE NORTHERN HALF OF 
THE SYSTEM...ANY CONTINUED CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT OR WRAP-AROUND IN 
THE CIRCULATION'S SOUTHERN PERIPHERY, WOULD PLACE THESE ISLANDS 
WITHIN THE SOUTHERN GALE RADIUS OF THE SYSTEM. THE TS EVENTUALLY 
MOVED VERY CLOSE TO FAIS AND ULITHI AND APPROXIMATELY 30 NM (35 
MILES) NORTH OF YAP. HOWEVER...REPORTS FROM THE YAP 
SUPPLEMENTAL RAWINSONDE SOUNDING AT 27 NOV 0600 UTC AND THE 
SCHEDULED SOUNDING AT 27 NOV 1200 UTC AS WELL AS THE SURFACE WIND 
AND PRESSURE REPORTS AND AVAILABLE SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATED THAT 
THE TS REMAINED WEAK...ESPECIALLY ON THE SOUTH SIDE...UNTIL IT MOVED
WELL PAST THE ISLANDS.
