חשל (b. h.; cmp. חסל) to scrape of, polish; to reduce. Pi. חישל to crush, batter. Koh. R. to I, 6 the ILord בהרים מחשלו breaks it (the vehemence of the wind) through the mountains; (Lev. R. 15; Gen. R. s. 24 מרשלו; Y. Ber. Ia, 13c bot. מכשלו). Nif. נתשל to be crushed. Sifre Deut. 296 (ref. to נחשלים, Deut.
