THOMAS ROBERT McINNES, of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, M.D., CM., and master of surgery, senator of the dominion of Canada, and coroner for the co. of Kent, province of Ontario, Canada, h. at Lake Ainslie, Nova Scotia, 5th November, 1840 ; m. in co. Kent, province of Ontario, 26th October, 1865, Martha Ellenor, daughter of the late William G-REGG, of CO. Kent, Ontario, and relict of the late George M. Web,stek, of Dresden, Ontario, and has issue, I. Thomas Robert Edward, h. 29th October, 1867, B.A. of Toronto University, Canada. II. William Wallace Burns, 6. 8th April, 1871, B.A. of Toronto University, Canada. Mr. Mclnnes was educated at Normal School, Truro, Nova Scotia, and Harvard University, Boston, United States, elected by acclamation. Reeve of Dresden, Ontario, January, 1874 ; was mayor of the city of New Westminster, British Columbia, from January, 1876, to January, 1878; has been physician and surgeon to the Royal Columbia Hospital since May, 1874 ; appointed medical superintendent of British Columbia Lunatic Asylum, July, 1878 ; was first returned to Parliament, 26th March, 1878; was re-elected and resigned on appointment to the Senate, 1881. The eldest son, John McInnes, formerly of Inverness, Scotland, and afterwards of Lake Ainslie, Nova Scotia, b. in Inverness, Scotland, 8th June, 1799; m. lOtli May, 1823, Mary, third daughter of Captain Edward Hamilton, of Paisley, Scotland, a lineal descendant of the first Duke of Hamilton (Captain Hamilton's other children were, Edward, b. 17th Decem- ber, 1785 ; m. 14th October, 1801, and d. 21st September, 1870; John, J. 4th May, 1787; in. 9th July, 1810, and d. 17th January, 1867; William, i. 1792; m. 1836, and d. February, 1884 ; and Jane, h. 8th June, 1804 ; »;. September, 1830, and d. 3rd Octo- ber, 1870), and d. 7th October, 1858, having by her (who was b. in Paislev, Scot- land, 4th July, 1797, and d.
