mology as resident surgeon of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and was connected with the institution for twenty- one years. His linguistic attainments were of a high order. His publications are the translations of Frey's "Histology" (1876), and a "Dictionary of the German Terms used in Medicine" (1879). He be- came a member of the American Ophthal- mological Society in 1S87 and died in 1891. H. F.
