The origi- nal is said to be the production of Brahma himself, and contains 100,000 slokes. Shri Nath proposed to give a translation in 1QO nos., at I Re. per each. 151. It is taken from the tfidan, a Sanskrit medical work : treats of a number of diseases, their symptoms, remedies, — it may be usefully consulted for certain articles in the Native Materia Medica. Contains symptoms of deseases : decoctions : medi- cines. Designed to give knowledge . to those physicians who receive a fee of 4 annas for a visit. 152. (S. B.) Taken from the Nidan Shastra. Treats of various ways of preserving health, of labour, bathing, oiling, food, sleep and the causes of eighty of the diseases in the country. 155. (S. T.) More than 20,000 copies of this work have been sold— it treats of the various diseases, their symptoms and cure,— doubtless various vegetable medicines, are referred to here, which may be of use in diseases, as Wise, in his work on Hindu medicine shows is the case with various native remedies.
