armet is small but heavy, weighing 9 lb. 6 oz. At its summit is a hole by which was attached the crest. It bears a most interesting armourer's mark, the letter L in a circle, and below a name in full, Lionardo.

The armet at the Rotunda, Woolwich (Fig. 431), possesses exactly the same marked characteristics as the others with which we have associated it. Indeed, this armet is so similar to the one just described that only its differences need be noted. It has not, and appears never to have had, any reinforcing piece over the front of the skull-piece; neither is there any trace of the stem to hold the rondel at the back, which from the very high quali-
