Parma 1818, sentenced to death and his property confiscated (Oct. 1823) by the Italian Government for alleged association with the Carbonari, professor of Italian, University of London, 1828-31, extra assistant-librarian British Museum, keeper of printed books 1837-56, K.C.B. in 1869, died 8 April, 1879.
