60 ſtadia. From the mouth laſt mentioned to the fifth mouth 120 ſtadia. Arrian makes only five mouths to the Danube, but Pliny and Ptolemy reckon ſix. The names aſſigned by Pliny are, 1. Spireoſtoma; 2. Boreoſtoma; 3. Pſeudoſtoma; 4. Caloſtoma; 5. Naracoſtoma; 6. Peuce. . Pliny ſays, that the fifth mouth was ſo called, "a congelatis et ſtupidis piſcibus, quarum ibi magna copia "reperitur." The ſixth mouth is probably ſo called from the pine trees, which grow plentifully on all the ſides of the Euxine ſea; The names given by Ptolemy agree nearly with thoſe of Pliny.
