CAMP COMPONENTS (Cont'd) 7 N.A.D. Ammunition Depot, Spring Hill |
Seven Quonset Huts - 576 sq. ft. each - are used in housing enlisted men. Two thirds of a Quonset Hut is used for housing officers. Capacity: 2 officers and 50 enlisted men. Facilities: The water supply is from wells on Australian Army Ammunition Depot 3/4 mile away. A small household washing machine is provided for the men to do their own laundry. Power is supplied by diesel generator located on the camp. A septic tank is provided for sewerage. All of these facilities together with messing facilities, are adequate for this camp. |

Service Force Subordinate Command Seventh Fleet, Officer's Quarters. |
Five officers are housed in a private dwelling at 148 Forrest Street, Cottesloe. Capacity: 5 officers. Facilities: Municipal water, sewerage and power facilities from the City of Perth are used. These facilities are adequate for this component. Messing facilities are adequate. The Receiving Barracks laundry is used and is adequate for all washing purposes. |

REMARKS: In order to provide for shore patrol in this area, Service Force maintains 32 men in the Court Hotel, Perth. These men are on subsistence. Service Force, Subordinate Command, also maintains quarters for 2 medical officers in the Weld Club, Perth; 10 transient officers in the Commercial Travellers Club, Perth; and 1 transient officer in the Palace Hotel, Perth.
