LAY BAPTISM

PROVIDED an infant or adult is in danger of dying before a priest can be procured, any other person, whether man, woman, or child, may baptizing in the following manner:

While pouring common water on the head or face of the person, pronounce the words:

I baptize thee in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
