claimed. For example, where it appears from the record that an author's original composition was published before an arrangement of it by another person, a renewal claim in the arrangement by the author, based on his original composi­tion, is unacceptable.

Revised published version. Where an author's original unpublished work was first published with an arrangement or other new matter by another person, the author's claim to renewal in the pub­lished work may be accepted.
