A life-size, three-quarters length figure of one of the Queen's Yeomen of the Guard in his state uniform of scarlet, embroidered with black and gold, with medals and clasps upon his breast, a baldric across his shoul- der, a white ruff around his neck, and the official cap of black velvet on his head. The old man, a veteran of Waterloo, sits upright in his chair, holding in his right hand his staff of office and in his left a folded paper containing his last orders.
