LOT, HENRY, born in Gendringen, May 22, 1822, died in Düsseldorf, May 12, 1878. Dutch school; animal and landscape painter, pupil in Cleve of Blass and B. C. Koekoek; afterwards taught drawing at the Gymnasium in Wesel and settled in Düsseldorf in 1853. Works: Rhine Landscape with Cartmen; Landscape with Cattle; Wood near Newburg; Inundated Meadow.—Kunst-Chronik, xiii. 629.
