A permit parking area may include parking or loading bays for non-permit holders. TSRGD 2016 allows for the entrance sign to include an additional panel at the bottom with a legend such as "Except in signed bays".
8.4
The "loading only" area sign was previously authorised in England and is now prescribed. It is used where a road is designated for loading only and is likely to be close to premises where loading and/or unloading takes place on a regular basis such as in a retail area. The road may be designated for general loading or for loading by goods vehicles only. The times during which the road is reserved for loading only are shown on the sign.
