pampero ,psem'pe:-zo n. [ploral pamperos'] a cold, dry, south- westerly wind that siueeps over the pampas of Argentina and Uruguay, and northeastward to the Brazilian coast, in the rear of barometric depressions, corresponding to the norther of the Gulf States.
