Nicholas Kinney, December 12, 1817, died

was the most widely known member of the
Trout family, being in his day one of the
most distinguished chancery lawyers of his

(VII) John Harry Harper, youngest son or John and Sarah Jane (Trout) Harper, was educated in the public schools and high school of Port Republic. Virginia, where he was born. He spent the greater part of his youth and young manhood in the place of his birth and rearing, and in 1891 came to New York City, becoming connected with the wholesale firm of Charles Broadway Rouss, filling the position of manager of the clothing department. His whole business life since has been spent in New York City, and his connection with the firm has con- tinued. Mr. Harper is a member of the Astor Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, No. 10^.
