Thom \> Portington collated 7th May 1471, and died in 1485. He was treasurer of York cathedral.

Edmund Chadi ston, collated 17th June [485, and died in 1499. 1>< >"- 'dso archde aeon of Chester. Ho was buried in St.Stephen'a college, West minster, where he was canon.

Henry Hornby bu t-<\rA, and held it in j 50 1 and

quitted it for A ilesburj . William Wittern, installed in Oct. 15 19, and died

in 1542. Thomas Lillyhoe, collated ioth and installed 17th

June 1.54:, vice Wittern deceased. He was buried in

the cathedral. William Tailboys, collated 12th and installed 13th

March 1545-6, vice Lillyhoe deceased. He died about

157 1 or 1572, and was buried in the cathedral. John Whitgift, B.D., dean, collated 31st May and

installed i^th June 1572, per deprivacoem Tailboys.

He was made bishop of Worcester in 1,577. and after- wards archbishop of Canterbury. John Hanson, installed 1st Feb. 1576-7. Henry Ransford, B.D., collated 15th May and in- stalled 18th July 1618, vice Hanson deceased. He

died, being deprived, in 1050. Samuel Brunsell, S.T.P., collated 8th April 1662.

On the Restoration, being afterwards made prebendary

of Southwell, he resigned this stall. William Binckes, A.M., collated 2nd May 1683, vice

Samuel Brunsell resigned; and died in 1712, being

dean of Lichfield. William Wake, A.M., collated 11th Sept. and in-

stalled 1 Nth Oct. 1712, vice dean Binckes deceased.

He was made precentor of Salisbury about 1727. Edward Fane, A.M., collated 1st Oct. 1731. VOL. 11. c c
