He was accepted by the King, and had the temporalities restored to him 2nd May^ on the 27th of which month, it being Whitsunday, lie was enthroned^ Ho died r2th Feb.^ 1279—80 at Wa- verley in Surrey, where his body was interred, but his heart was deposited in ^^'inchester cathedral'^.
