The headman distributes the cooked rice which was in the winnowing-basket to the visitors who are friends of the family, while the widow and the nearest relatives eat the food which is in the hut on behalf of the deceased. On the following Uchâl day the deceased is represented by a strip of bamboo pegged out in the manner which has been already described.
