A county council may borrow money for the purposes of providing small holdings any borrowing must be in accordance with the Local Government Act, 1888 (51 & 52 Yict. c. 41), or, in the case of a county borough, with the Public Health Act, 1875 (38 & 39 Yict. c. 55).
