H e attended the schools of Danville and grad­ uated in 189O from Friiicetoii University. In 1899 he graduated from the law school of the U niversity o f Pennsylvania. H e read law with Robert J . Williams and S. M orris W ain, o f Philadelphia* and w as admitted to the practice o f law in Montour county in 1899. Mr. Oglesby was elected justice of the peace in the year 1902, which position he still holds. C h aklks F . C k a k k a r t * son o f C* F . G ear­ hart, was born in Rush township. Northumber­ land county* June 15* 1862. H is literary edu­ cation w as gained in the public schools and at the Danville Academy. H e read law with I L M . Hinckley and was admitted to the practice o f law in Montour county in 189a. JIc was elected justice of the i^ace in Riverside* Northumberland Co.* P a., in 1890, which po­ sition he held until November, 1004. H e was again elected justice in 19 13 . M r. Gearhart ser>*ed as district attorney of Montour county from 1906 to 19 12 . H e served as captain o f Company F, 12th Regiment, P. V. I., in the Spanish-American war, and was m ajor of the 12th Regiment of the National Guard o f Penn­ sylvania from 1899 to October* 1909. Mr. A merman was educated in (he public schools of the county and graduated in the class o f 1890 from (he Slate Normal School at Mansfield, Tiogu Co., I'a., and from Cornell University law school in 1898. H e read law with Hon. Lemuel A m crnun and after his decease with the law lirm o f Willard* W arren and Knapp, in Scranton. H e w as admitted to (he practice o f law* at Scranton in 1898 and later came to Montour county, where he lias been practic­ ing since. Mr. Amcrman w as married Aug. 16, 1905* to Flora A . Mettler. Ilis early education w as obtained in (he common schools of Danville and he a fte r­ wards attended Dickinson C o l l i e at Carlisle, Pa., being in the class o f 1877. Mr. Q u H an t published the Danville Sun, a daily paper, for a number o f years. H e studied law with Jam es Scarlet, E ^ ., and w*as admitted to the bar o f Montour county in 188c. On Sept. 30* 1885, M r. Cnalfant m arried Gertrude Gearhart, daughter o f Peter G ear­ hart, o f South Danville. In 1895 Mr. Q ialfant was installed grand master of Pennsylvania, I. O . O . F, M r. Chalfant practiced law for some years with marked ability. He was a young man o f many brilliant parts. In 1906 he suffered a stroke o f paralysis which has laid him aside in the prime o f life. In the midst of his in ­ firmity, however, which has completely disa­ bled him for any professional work, he still takes a keen interest in all public affairs. B. Miss M cH enry attended the common schools* Muncy Normal School and Buckncll Institute. She read law w ith Ikeler and Ikeler at Bloomsburg, and w as admitted to practice M ay 5, 1897, in Columbia county. Subse­ quently she was admitted to the bar o f M on­ tour countv. K a i .ph ^Cksner w as born at M illville, C o­ lumbia Co.* Pa.* A pril 6, 1878* w*as educated at Greenwood Seminary, Millvtlle (a private school under the control and supen*t$ion of the yearly meeting of the Society o f Friends o f Pennsylvania), and is a graduate of the Dloomshurg State Normal School* and o f Peirce’s business college, Philadelphia, Pa. He read law with Jam es Scarlet and w as adm it­ ted to the practice o f law Oct. 15, 1900. Mr. Kisner held (he office o f district attorney of Montour county from 1903 to 1906. H e has been solicitor for the Danville school district since 1901* and on Jan . 1, 1912* w as chosen solicitor fo r Montour county and for the bor­ ough of Danville. On Ju n e 19 (2, M r.
