Concerned as they are to learn that the pressure of work entailed by the composition of the book has shattered the author’s health, they pray to God that he may soon be restored to health.” Extract from a circular from the late Babu Dinanath Sen, Inspector of Schools, Eastern Circle, to the Head Masters of High English Schools under him, dated Dacca, the Sth March, 1897. ‘“A very important book on the History of the Bengali language and literature has been published by Babu Dinesh Chandra Sen, Head Master of the Victoria School at Comilla.
