Mr. Cobden was followed by Mr. Bright, who spoke of the activity that prevailed in the West Riding of Yorkshire* which promised triumph in that important division of the county.
Other meetings were also held; at Warrington, attended by Mr. Cobden and Mr. Bright; at Preston, by the same gentlemen; at Oldham, by Mr. Cobden, Mr.J. Brooks, and Mr. Edward Watkin; at Chorley, by Mr. Bright and myself; at Macclesfield, by Mr. Cobden; at Blackburn, by Mr. Cobden and Mr. H. Ashworth; and at Durham, by Mr. Bright. There were also numerous meetings held in other towns, not attended by any deputation from the League.
