(But did the course start up again in 1946 or did it take longer than that? Because it had been going before the war did it not?) Well there was the diploma course or the course down at the central college and you would need a historian to put you right on that but I've got a great horror of saying the wrong thing. But before I joined, and I think the degree course had been going at least a couple of years, 3 years or something, but and it was founded upon the start of the course down, originally, at the Tech college before the war. I think Yeah. (CTC it was.) Yes. Yeah. (Central Technical College). Yeah. Yeah.

(I have been doing a bit of work on that period this year for my PhD) Right. Right. (and I was surprised that they actually, that architecture kept going except in 1942.) Right. (and that there was the University of Queensland diploma course which ran during the war and there were only a couple (2) students) Yeah. I can imagine that. They called it a Diploma course then was it? (That's right. But I think Cam Scott, and Robert Froud, were) Right. (did that course) Right. (which, and, so Campbell Scott in fact only missed one year during the second world war) Right. (of study) Right. ( so that's one of the reasons why Baz and Scott were able to start up in 1946 ). Yes, straight after the war (straight after the war) Yes, yeah, yeah. (So Blair Wilson I think was in one of the first years of the degree course) Yeah. Yes, well Blair was one year ahead of me so thats why I say that the lecturers were really pioneers. And it was quite a struggle to get the course and Dan Lather and I were the recipients of first class honours through the Prof trying to increase the standard and get a bit of status. You know both Dan and I did well during the course, in fact Nutter won a University medal, he was one of the outstanding students in the whole University but we didn't do what peopole have got to do now for first class honours, so I thank the Professor for that. (Laughter).
