Loring, Ellis Gray, 1802-58. The Board of Managers [of the Massachu- setts Anti-Slavery Society]. An Ameri- can anti-slavery lawyer, when to be so, required great courage ; studied at Harv. Coll. with the class of 1823, but was re- fused his degree on account of his par- ticipation in the rebellion, and after- wards declined it ; d. in Boston.
