I heard with very much regret your temporary absence through illness, and trust you will speedily be restored to health, to pursue the splendid scientific object you have in view. I can assure you Sir I shall take to Africa the very instructive lessons, taught at your Museum - and shall also, throw into my work of collecting in Mashonaland, an enthusiasm I should not otherwise have felt. You may be assured that I shall carry out your orders to the very best of my ability as I told Mr Hacker, I had already sent to Port Elizabeth to request
