During this time I had been to confession at which Father Slunin, who was recommended to me by Archbishop Platon himself, succeeded in drawing me out as to the actual amount of money I had. As for the "rehearsals", this is what they consisted of: Every evening, after business hours, the "Holy Fathers" would come together for an entirely different kind of "Business."
