off. But being ioyned togither neere to Mortaigne it entereth the Schelde.

Denre, in Lathe Tenera, riseth by Conde in Haynault, and Denrermonde entreth the Schelde.

Hayne, giueth the name to the Countrey of Haynault. It riseth by Hanuiere in Haynault, & neere to Conde entreth Schelde.

Chiefs, riseth in Lorraine, a league beneath Iuoy, it entereth Mense.

Besides there Riuers diuers Channelles there are in the Countrey, cut out and made nauigable by mans hand, the principall whereof, are at Bruxelles, at Gant, at Bruges, at Middlebourg.

The Contrey hath not many fountaines of running water, saue in the mountayne Contreyes: but Lakes, Pooles, and Marshes many, which both fortitle the Countrey, and furnish it of Fish.

A Discourse of the Sea.

The Sea may well be tearmed, not only a neighbor but also a member of thes low Contreys ,as well for the great benefite that it bringeth to them:as also for the harme that is doth them when it rageth. Wherefore a word or two must be spoken thereof.
