I passed, on several occasions however, a bronze statue of George Washington, two blocks from the American Embassy on the Plaza de Dinamarca, where the First President of the United States stands with his right hand extended and his left holding his three-cornered hat. But the bronze table which tells who this hero is has been removed and George Washington to a passer-by might be any one of a number of local or international heroes.
