Mountain Daisy.

A very robust and remarkable species, the stems and leaves are densely covered with thick tomentum or hairs. This plate was drawn from a specimen sent by post; the leaves are therefore too close together and the flowers not sufficiently upright, but I was not able to obtain another specimen. It grows very large in the Awatere Valley and banks of the Waihopai. It approaches some Australian species in habit, size, and other respects. It flowers in November. Awatere.
