"Who did I see?" countered Ned. "You say it wasn't you—"
"Me! Hang it, I went to bed at ten and wasn't awake again until I heard a noise and saw you—well some one coming in that window! Look here, if it wasn't you, why didn't you tell Johnny so?"
"Because I thought it was you, you poor prune!"
