1. This translation presupposes that aura is an error for auront. If the former was really intended, it must read, “At Cremona and Mantua it [he] will have suffered great evils.”
2. Or “Seen by others, he will be dishonored.”
3. Or “another falls” may be the sense intended.
4. Or “chain” (in the sense of chain of hills).
5. Or “That which.”
6. Or “it... its.”
7. "A light galley, propelled by both sail and oar. Possibly synecdoche for “fleet.”
