' Aid v.'ichin the Counties aforefaid, which Sum ccnfifting of hammered Monies, is depr fited in the Re- ' ceipt of His Majcfly's Exchequer, but the fame, or tlie greateft Part thereof, is not charged as Money ' aftually paid into the faid Receipt;' Be it farther enacted by the Authority afoiefaid, That the Tellers in the faid Receipt of Exchequer, or ibme of them, (hall forthwith receive the faid Money amounting to three thoufand two hundred and eighty Pounds eight Shillings and nine Pence, upon the faid Receiver's Account of the faid Aid, and (hall throw down a Bill or Bills for the fame, according to the Courfe of the Exche- quer, to the end the faid Receiver may have a Talley or Tallies for his Difcharge, and the faid Colledors and other His Majefty's Subjeds in the faid Counties may have no further Trouble concerning the fame. ' off the Duties upon Tunnage of Ships and upon Coals, it is amonaft other Things provided. That if any of S^*5' '° ^ " ' thofe Wares upon drawing are broken, or otherwife made unnt for Sale, there (hall no Duty grow due • J- '■ ' • ' for the fame by virtue of that Aft, but the Officers fhall fee the fame deflroyed : And whereas it often ' happens, that where Tobacco Pipe Makers do make and burn Tobacco Pipes, that at the opening or ' drawing of the Pots, Kilns, Furnaces or Ovens, wherein the fame are burnt or nealed, the Tobacco ' Pipes, or a great Part of them, are unfit for Sale, by Reafon of fome Default in the Burning and Nealing ' thereof, and the deftroying the fame by the Officer is of great Lofs to the Maker, when as fuch Tobacco ' Pipes may be rendred fit for Sale in cafe they were new burnt or nealed :' For the remedying of which Tobacco Pipes Mifchief be it hereby enadted and declared by the Authority aforefaid. EXP, CAP. XXI. An Aft for laying a Duty upon Leather for the Term of three Years, and making other Provifion for an- fwering the Deficiencies as well of the late Duties upon Coals and Culm, as for paying the Annuities up- on the Lottery, and for Lives, charged on th^ Tunnage of Ships and the Duties upon Salt. [The Mo- ney arifing by this Aft being deficient, is fiipplied by i Annae, (tat. i> cap. 13.] CAP. XXII. An Aft for granting to His Majefly certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Sweets, Cyder and Perry, as well z X V, towards carrying on the War againft France, as for the necefTary Occalions of His Majefty's Houfhold, and other Occafions. [The Money arifing by this Aft being deficient, is fupplied by i Annae, (lat, i. cap. 13. Explained, 9 & 10 W, 3. c. 8. J CAP. XXIII. An Aft to enforce the AA for the Increafe and Encouragement of Seamen. ' TX 7 HERE AS by an Aft of Parliament made in the laft Seffion of this prefent Parliament, intituled, ' VV An ASl for the Increafe and Encouragetnent of Seamen, it is (amongft other Things) enafted. That 7 & g w. ». ' for the Relief, Benefit or Advantage, of fuch regiftred Mariners or Seamen, Watermen, Fifhermen, c, zi. ' Lightermen, Bargemen, Keelmen or Seafaring Men, who by Age, Wounds, or other Accidents, (liall ' be difabled for future Service at Sea, and fhall not be in a Condition to maintain themfelves comfortably, ' and the Children of fuch difabled Seamen, and the Widows and Children of fuch of them as fhall hap- ' pen to be flain, killed or drowned in Sea Service, fo far forth as the Hofpital in the faid Aft mentioned ' (hall be capable to receive them, and the Revenue thereof will extend for or towards their Relief or Sup- ' port, and according to the Rules, Orders, and Conftitutions to be fettled and provided for the faid Hofpi- ' tal, and the Government and Regulation thereof, every fuch Seaman, Waterman, Fiflierman, Lighter- ' man.
