A ND be it enaflied by the Authority aforefaid. ' XCIII. And whereas by an Aft of Parliament made in the firft Year of the Reign of King Willi- 1 W.&M, ff. 1. ' AM and Queen Mary, intituled, ^n ASi for the encouraging the Exportation of Corn, it is enacfted. That '^' '*• ' all Perfons who ftiould export out of this Kingdom, into Parts beyond the Seas, any of the Sorts of ' Grain therein enumerated, when the Prices of fuch Corn at fuch Places were under the Rates therein

  • fet, fliould have paid them by the Commiffioners, Farmers, or Colleftors of his Majefty's Cuftoms of

' the Port from whence fuch Corn was exported, upon a Certificate thereof, and Proof upon Oath, ac- ' cording to the Intent of the faid A£t, the Sum of five Shillings for every Quarter of Wheat, ground or ' unground ; three Shillings and fix Pence for every Qtiarter of Rye, ground or unground ; and two Shil- ' lings and fix Pence for every Quarter of Barley or Malt, ground or unground : And forafmuch as in ' many Ports and Places on the Coaft of this Kingdom, where fuch Corn is exfyorted to Parts beyond the ' Seas, there is not fo much Money received by the Colle£tors of the Cuftoms arifing by the Duties

  • chargeable with the Monies given for the Encouragement of the Exportation of Corn, as is or may be

' fufficient to pay or difcharge the fame, according to the Intent of the faid Aft, fo that there are great

  • Arrear-s in feveral Ports, whereby the Owners of Land, and Exporters of Corn, are under great Dif-

' advantages in the Sale of their Corn in thofe Parts, and cannot have the Benefit of the faid A£t, as

  • others in other Places have, where fuch Allowance is duly paid, according to the Intent thereof:' For

Remedy whereof be it ena£ted by the Authority aforefaid. That if the Collector of the Cuftoms of any Allowance on fuch Port fhall not have fufficient in his Hands to fatisfy and pay fuch Sum or Sums of Money (which the Exportation are or fhall be due to any Exporter, by Virtue of the faid Aft, arifing out of the Cuftoms and Duties out of Com by i w. of which it ought to be paid, upon demand, according to the Intent of the faid Adt, that then fuch Col- f ^""^'i,'^/' leftor fhall give to the Perfon dem.anding fuch Sum or Sums of Money (without Fee or Reward) a Certi- ""' ° ^ P^' " ficate under his Hand of what is due to fuch Perfon for the Corn exported from fuch Port, certifying to the Commiffioners of the Cuftoms at London, that he hath not Monies in his Hands fufficient to pay the fame ; which Certificate being affixed to the Debenture for the Corn fo exported, and being produced to the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Cuftoms at London, they the faid Commiffioners are hereby authorized and required, on demand 'by the Perfon that fhall bring the fame, to caufe the Monies thereby due to be paid in three Months by the general Receiver or Cafhler of the Cuftoms, out of fuch Monies as fhall be in his Hand, arifing out of fuch Cuftoms or Duties in the faid Port oi London, as are chargeable with the Payment of any Money for the Exportation of Corn, according to the faid Ad', witliout l"'ee or Reward ; any Law or Statute to the contrary notwithftanding.
