02 G. 54.. Anno primo Georgii Regis. Stat. 2. A. D. 1715.- Such Perfons as ' IX. And whereas it is juft and reafonable, That all fuch Perfons as have Continued faithful to his Ma- have remained ' jefty during the Jate unnatural Rebellion, and who are by this Act difcharged from keeping or ufing Ma'eft 1 'flilr-b Anns, ^ ou ld have the juft and true Value of all fuch Arms as they are obliged by this Act to lay afide:' pairtheTillVa- ^ e it 'therefore enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all Perfons within the Limits aforefaid, who. have lue of the Arms continued faithful to his Majefty, and who are hereby obliged to lay afide their Arms, fhall deliver -them they deliver up, up' to the Lords Lieutenants of their .refpective Counties, or their Deputies, or fuch other Perfons as his Majefty fhall be pleafed to commiffion for that Purpofe, and fhall receive the true , and juft Value of them in Money in Manner after-mentioned; that is to fay, The Lords Lieutenants of the feveral Counties- above-mentioned, or their Deputies, or fuch other Perfons commiffioned as aforefaid, are hereby com-- manded and required, before the fnft Day of AuguJI in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred- and fixteen, to appoint, by Proclamation to be made at_ the feveral Market-crofles andParifh-churches,. proper Places and Times, within their refpective Counties, where fuch Arms fhall be delivered; and to appoint five or more Perfons to receive and value the fame upon Oath, and grant Receipts under their Hands for them, bearing the Names, Number, and Value of the Arms fo delivered; which Oath, the faid Lords Lieutenants, or their Deputies, or fuch other Perfons commiffioned as aforefaid, are hereby required and impowered to adminifter : And if any of the Perfons to be appointed to receive- and value the faid' Arms, fhall wilfully refufe to take the faid Oath, or to receive or value the faid Arms, every Perfon fo re- fufing fhall forfeit the Sum of one hundred Pounds Sterling; and within forty Days after the Receipt of fuch Arms, the Lords Lieutenants, or their Deputies, or fuch other Perfons commiffioned as aforefaid,. are hereby commanded and required to tranfmit the fame to fuch Places as his Majefty fhall think fit to direct, with a figned Lift of the Names and Defignations of the feveral Perfons who delivered them, and. their particular Values; and for the effectual Payment of the faid Value, the Collectors of the Land-Tax or Excife within the faid Counties are hereby commanded and required to pay the Sums contained in the faid Receipts out of the firft and readieft Monies that are in or fhall come to their Hands for the Ufe of the Publick: The which Receipts, indorfed by the Perfons to whom they were firft granted, are hereby: ordered to be paffed to the Credit of the faid Collectors of the Land-Tax or Excife, at making up of their; Accounts. ' X. And whereas the prevailing Cuftorn of convocating Numbers of his Majefty's Subjects together,. ' with the Practice of obliging them to perform divers Services, arbitrary and oppreffive, by virtue of .'
