An Act for granting an Aid to his Majefty by a Land-tax to be raifed in Great Britain, for the Service ol the Year one thoufand feven hundred and eighteen. 3 s. in the Pound. EXP. CAP. II. An Aft to enable his Majefty to be Governor of the South Sea Company. EXP. c a r. in. An Act for continuing the Duties on Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and eighteen ; and for making forth Duplicates of Ex- chequer-bills, Lottery-Tickets and Orders loft, burnt or deftroyed ; and for appropriating the Supplies granted in this Seffion of Parliament. VIII. A ND be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be lawful to and nAm:fl. t. J~ for any Perfort or Perfons who fhall have actually paid his Majeity's Duties by this AdTt payable S' 2 " ' ^"' for any Cyder or Perry made in Great Britain, and to or for any other Perfon or Perfons who ftiall buy tyder o/perry or be lawfully entitled to any fuch Cyder or Perry, for or in refpect whereof the faid Duties to his faid that have paid Majefty hereby granted have been duly paid, to export fuch Cyder and Perry for any foreign Parts by way 'he Duties may of Merchandize, giving fufficient Security before the {hipping thereof ior Exportation, that the particu- be cx P orted ° n lar Quantity of Cyder or Perry which fhall be intended to be exported as aforefaid, and every Part there- bt^UndecT '• of, fhall be fhipped and exported, and that the fame or any Part thereof, fhall not be relanded or brought again into any Part or Parts of Great Britain ; which Security the Cuftomer or Collector of the refpective Port from whence fuch Exportation is to be (without any Fee or Reward J is hereby directed and authorized to take in his Majefty's Name and to his Majefty's Ufe. IX. Provided always, That if after the {hipping of any fuch Cyder or Perry to be exported as afore- Relanded, for-- faid, and the giving or tendring fuch Security as aforefaid, in order to obtain the Allowance or Drawback feitei, and the herein after mentioned, the Cyder or Perry fo fhipped to be exported, or any Part thereof, fhall be reland- Cond " cd in any Part of Great Britain, That then and in every fuch Cafe, over and above the Penalty of the Bond, which fhall be levied and recovered to his Majefty Ufe, all the Cyder and Perry which fhall be fo relanded, or the Value thereof, fhall be forfeited. X. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons who fhall ex- On Certificate port any Cyder or Perry into foreign Parts by way of Merchandize, fhall produce a Certificate or Certi- that the Duties ficates from the Collector or Officer who received the Duty of fuch Cyder or Perry, that the Duty impofed !iave be * n P aid >- thereon by this Act hath been paid (which Certificate the Collector or Officer is hereby required to give ^ c- ; ^°| 1 I ^ or gratis) and making Oath before the Officer or Collector of the Port where the fame fhall be fo exported, benture "thereof,, that the Cyder or Perry fo exported is the fame as is mentioned in fuch Certificate,, then the Collector or chief Officers of the Port where fuch Cyder or Perry fhall be exported, fhall give to the Exporter thereof a Certificate or Debenture expreffing the true Quantity of the Cyder or Perry fo exported or fhip- ped for Exportation ; which Certificate or Debenture being produced to the Collector or other Officer ap- pointed to receive the faid Duty in the County, Shire, Stuartry or Place where fuch Cyder or Perry was and the Duty exported, he is hereby required to pay the faid Duty of four Shillings per Hogfhead to the Perfons or their to be repaid to- Agents fo exporting the fame ; and in cafe the Collector or other Officer, fhall. not have any Money j n the Exporter, their Hands arifing by the faid Duties on Cyder and Perry to pay the fame,- then the refpeitive Commif- fioners appointed for executing this Act are hereby required to pay the fame out of the Duties arifing by the faid Act ; any Thing in this Act contained to the contrary notwithftanding.. ' XI. And whereas divers Dealers in Cyder and Perry, and Perfons receiving into their Cuftody great " Quantities of Cyder and Perry fent or brought to them from diftant or remote Places, have frequently ' refufed to permit the Officers of and for his Majefty's Duties of Excife to enter and go into the Cellars, ' Storehoufes and Places to them belonging, or by thtm ufed for the laying or keeping of fuch Cydjr and Perry, and to gauge and take Accounts thereof for theafcertaining and charging.the Duties on fuch Cyder ' and Perry impofed thereon by feveral Acts heretofore made for continuing the Duties on Malt, Mum, S Cyder and Perry, whereby his Majefty hath been- defrauded in the faid Duties granted by fuch Ails here-- ' rotor©*
