for or upon account of the fame Duties, fhoulcl not amount to fo much as one hundred thirty-five thoufand Pounds, or to fo much as fhould be fufficient to difcharge and fatisfy all the Annuities by that Aft appointed or intended to be paid, within or for the fame Year refpeftively, That then and fo often, and in every fuch Cafe, fo much as fhould be wanting to make up the faid Fund for every or any fuch Year, mould be fupplied and made good, from Time to Time, out of the fiift Aid to be granted in Par- liament next after fuch Deficiency fhould appear, and fhould, from Time to Time, be transferred there- unto as foon as the fame fhould be granted : And it was thereby enafted, That it fhould and might be lawful for any Perfon or Perfons, Natives or P'oreigners, Bodies Politick or Corporate, to contribute for or towards advancing the Sum of fifteen hundred thoufand Pounds therein mentioned, by paying at or before the firft Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and ten, to the Receiver or Receivers to be appointed for that Purpofe, the Sum of ten Pounds, or divers entire Sums of ten Pounds upon that Aft, for which he, fhe or they, for thirty-two Years, fhould be entitled to receive a Share or Dividend of the faid yearly Fund ; and that Lottery-tickets fhould be prepared and drawn, and the Shares of the Adven- turers in the faid Fund fhould be determined and afcertained in the Manner thereby prefcribed, as by the faid Aft, Relation being thereunto had, may more largely appear: And whereas the Sum of fifteen 8 Aim. c 4. hundred thoufand Pounds was contributed upon the faid Act, and the Annuities payable out of the faid Fund by virtue thereof, do amount as is herein after mentioned (that is to fay) to the Sum of thirty-two thoufand fix hundred twenty-five Pounds per Annum, payable half-yearly, to wit, at Lady-day and Mi- chaelmas, by equal Portions, or within twenty Days after every fuch Feaft-day, in refpedt of the fortu- nate Tickets ; and to the Sum of one hundred and two thoufand three hundred feventy-three Pounds and twelve Shillings per Annum, payable at Michaelmas yearly, or within twenty Days after the fame Feaft-day, in refpedt of the Tickets which did not prove to be fortunate upon Drawing of the faid Lot- tery, purfuant to the faid Aft : And whereas other Tickets, commonly called Pay-tickets, direfted by the (aid Aft, have been made forth for Payment of the faid refpeftive Annuities at the refpeftive Times before-mentioned, and all the laid Annuities payable out of the faid Fund are fatisfied until and for the Feaft of St. Michael the Archangel in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and feventeen, and no further; and the Sum of one hundred fixty-eight thoufand feven hundred forty-eight Pounds and five Shillings, is due and in Arrear thereupon, by computing the fame Annuities for one Year and a Quarter of a Year from the faid Feaft of Saint Michael the Archangel one thoufand feven hundred and feventeen, until and for the Feaft of the Birth of our Lord Chrift one thoufand feven hundred and eigh- teen : And whereas the Capital or Joint-ftock of the Governor and Company of Merchants of Great Britain, trading to the South-Seas and other Parts of America, and for encouraging the Fifhery, doth now amount to the Sum of ten Millions, and in refpeft thereof a yearly Fund of five hundred thoufand Pounds is payable to the faid Governor and Company, after the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, be- fides a yearly Sum of eight thoufand Pounds, for or towards the Charges of the faid Governor and Com- pany for Management, fubjeft neverthelefs to fuch Provifoes and Powers of Redemption, as are con- tained in one Aft of Parliament of the third Year of your Majefty's Reign, made (amongft other Things) 3 Ge °- *• e - 9- for redeeming the yearly Fund of the South-Sea Company, being then after the Rate of fix Pounds per Centum per Annum, and fettling on the faid Company a yearly Fund after the Rate of five Pounds per Centum per Annum, redeemable by Parliament, as by the feveral Afts of Parliament, whereupon the laid Capital or Joint-ftock, and the faid yearly Fund of five hundred thoufand Pounds, and the faid yearly Sum of eight thoufand Pounds, and the faid Powers of Redemption, are grounded, Relation being there- unto feverally had, may more fully appear : And whereas the Corporation of the laid Governor and Company of Merchants of Great Britain, is willing (upon fuch Terms, Conditions and Encourage- ments, as are hereafter in and by this Aft provided and enafted) to permit all and every or any fuch Perfons as are, or at any Time before the twentieth Day of 'June one thoufand feven hundred and nineteen (hall be the Proprietors of the faid Lottery-annuities, or- any of them, for the Refidue of the faid Term of thirty-two Years (that is to fay) for twenty-three Years and three Quarters of a Year, to be reckoned from the Feaft of the Birth of our Lord Chrift one thoufand feven hundred and eighteen {in cafe fuch Proprietors, or any of them, do fo think fit) to fubferibe his, her or their Right, Property and Intereft, for and during all fuch remaining Time or Term of and in every or any fuch Annuity or Annuities, and of and in all his, her or their faid Pay-tickets for the fame, during fuch refidual Time or Term, into a Book or Books to be provided, as hereafter in this Aft is direfted, at the Rate of eleven Years Purchafe and a half; fo that he, fhe or they fo fubferibins;, for every twenty Shillings per Annum fo fubferibed for the faid Time or Term of twenty-three Years and three Quarters of a Year, (hall have and be entitled to eleven Pounds and ten Shillings in the Capita! or Joint-ftock of the faid Company, when the faid Capital or Joint-ftock fhal! be increafed, according to the Purport and true Meaning of this Aft, and proportionally for any greater or lefi'er Annuities which (hall be fo fubferibed ; and the faid Corporation is aifo willing (upon the faid Terms, Conditions and Encouragements herein after mentioned) to permit all and tvery, or any fuch Perfons as are, or at any Time before the faid twentieth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and nineteen fhall be Proprietors of the faid Sum of one hundred fixty-eight thoufand feven hundred forty-eight Pounds and five Shillings, com- puted to be in Arrear, as aforcfaid, or any Part thereof, to fubferibe the fame ir.to the faid"BoQk or Books, fo that every fuch Subfcriber, for the Sum fo fubferibed in Part of the laid Sum of one hundred fixty-eight thoufand feven. hundred forty-eight Pounds and five Shillings, fhall have and be intitled to the like Sum in the faid increafed Capita!
