I. a 20. or Exchequer of Great Britain, or any Part thereof, by Authority of Parliament (other than and except e fuch Exchequer-bills as {hall be made forth by virtue and in purfuance cf this Act ; and other than and except fuch Exchequer-bills, or Bills in the Nature of Exchequer-bills, as {hall be ifTued by virtue of any other A3 of this Seffion of Parliament ; and other than and except fuch Exchequer-bills, or Bills in the Nature of Exchequer-bills, as {hall be circulated by virtue of any future Act or Acts of Parliament upon the Credit of the Exchequer, or of the publiek Money which fhall be brought into the Exchequer,- or of fuch Money which the Commiffioners of the Treafury, or High Treafurer for the Time being, fhall be impowered by Parliament to borrow, to fupport the Currency of fuch Exchequer-bills) then from and after fuch Currency of any Exchequer-bills, or Bills of the Nature of Exchequer-bills (other than and except, as aforefiid) the faid Governor and Company of Merchants of Gnat Britain, and their Succef- fors, {hall not be obliged to furnifh Money for exchanging any Exchequer-bills, purfuant to this Act, or to bear or pay any Intereft, or Proportion of Intereft, which from thenceforth fhall grow due thereupon; any Thing in this Act contained to the contrary notwithstanding. XCVI1L Provided alfo, and it is hereby enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the faid Commif- fioners of the Treafury, or any three or more of them, or the High Treafurer for the Time being, {hall have Power, and he or they are hereby enabled to pay and allow, or caufe to be paid and allowed, out of the Monies to arife of or for the faid Surpluses, Exccfies, and overplus Monies, commonly called the Sinking Fund, or of or for the Increafe thereof, to be made in Confequence of this Act, from Time to Time, as well to the refpective Managers and Directors to be conftitutedfor taking in the above-mentioned Annuities and Debts, and performing fuch other Matters as are by this Acl required to be performed by

fuch Managers and Directors, and to the Perfons who fhall be appointed for taking the faid Orders and

Tickets, and for performing fuch other Matters as are by this Act required to be performed by them, and to the faid Truftees, who fhall be appointed for exchanging the faid Exchequer-bills, and for performing fuch o:her Matters as are by this Act required to be performed by thofe Truftees refpectively, fuch Sala- ries and Allowances for the Charges, Pains and Service of themfelves, and thofe who {hall be employed under them refpectively in thofe refpective Trufts, as they the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury or any three or more of them, or the faid High Treafurer for the Time being fhall, from Time to Time, think juft and reafonable in that Behalf; and alfo to pay and allow, or caufe to be paid and allowed out of the "fame Monies arifing as aforefaid, the neceffary Charges for taking in and cancelling the rehduary Exche- quer-bills, and making forth new Bills in lieu thereof, purfuant to this Act ; and to allow and pay, or caufe to be allowed and paid out of the faid Money to arife as aforefaid, any reafonable Charges for Books, Clerkfliip, or other Matters and Things which fhall be necefTarily incident in or for the Execu- tion of this Act, or any Part thereof, by or by the Order or Direction of fuch Perfon or Perfons as fhall be appointed thereunto, or employed therein by them the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury, or any three or more of them, or by the faid High Treafurer for the Time being, and not othervvife ; any Thing in this or any other Law or Statute whatfoever to the contrary notwithftanding. 16 Ga. 2. c. 121 33 Ga. 2. c. 1, iS, 21, £f 23. 1 Geo. 3. c. 18 & 20. CAP. V. An Aft for the better fecuring the Dependency of the Kingdom of Ireland upon the Crown of Great Britain. WHEREAS the Houfe of Lords of Ireland have of late, againft Power and Jurifdiction to examine, The Kingdom uf Ireland is fubordinate to Greit Britain. The King and Parliament of Great Eritain may make Laws to bind Ireland. The Houfe of Lords of Inland have not Jurif- diction to judge of, ^firm or rs- rerfe an;. Judg-^ meat, Sec. given Law, aiTumed to themfelves a correct and amend the Judgments and Decrees of the Courts of Juftice in the Kingdom of Ireland :' Therefore for the better fecuring of the Dependency of Ireland upon the Crown of Great Britain, May it pleafe your moil Excellent Majefty that it may be de- clared, and be it declared by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament aiiembled, and by the Au- thority cf the fame, That the faid Kingdom of Ireland hath been, is, and of Right ought to be fubordi- nate unto and depsndent upon the Imperial Crown of Great Britain, as being infeparably united and an- nexed thereunto ; and that the King's Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiri- tual and Temporal, and Commons oi Great Britain in Parliament aflembled, had, hath, and of Right ought to have full Power and Authority to make Laws and Statutes of fufficient Force and Validity, to bind the Kingdom and People of Ireland. II. And be it further declared and enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That the Houfe of Lords of Ire- land have not, nor of Right ought to have any Jurifdiction to judge of, affirm or reverfe any Judgment, Sentence or Decree, given or made in any Court within the faid Kingdom, and that all Proceedings before the faid Houfe of .Lords upon any fuch Judgment, Sentence or Decree, are, and are hereby declared to be utterly null and void to all Intents and Purpofes whatfoever. in any Court there ; and their Proceedings thereon are void, See farther aticmum Ireland, 6 Geo. t. c. 21. 12 Ga. 2. c, as.
